Camp Humane: Ages 8-10
Animal Humane New Mexico
June 27 - July 1, 2022. 9 am - 3:30 pm
Join our Humane Education Team for Camp Humane 2022, and experience 5 full days of fun & learning.
Through fun activities and interactions with visitors and animal guests, Camp Humane allows children ages 8-10 to explore animal-related topics and learn more about how humans can help pets. Camp days will run Monday – Friday, 9 am – 3:30 pm.
Registration includes:
- 5 full days of camp, including crafts, activities, guest speakers & games
- Full day off-site field trip on Thursday
- Camp t-shirt
Drop Off & Pick Up
- Morning drop-off begins at 8:45 am & we ask that all children be picked up at 3;30 but no later than 3:40 pm.
- You will be required to sign your child in and out with a staff member at the time of drop-off/pick-up and will be required to show identification during pick-up.
- Campers can be dropped off & picked up directly outside the Education Room on the north side of our Main Campus' Big Blue building.
- We will only release campers to adults whose names were provided during registration, or on the Transportation Release Form (downloadable below).
Safety Protocols
For the safety of our campers and staff we will have the following protocols in place:
- Campers should stay home if they are experiencing any COVID symptoms, have been diagnosed with COVID in the last two weeks, are awaiting COVID test results or have been exposed to someone with COVID in the last two weeks.
- If your child has severe allergies, medical conditions or special needs, please contact us at SummerCamps@AnimalHumaneNM.org so we may discuss your child and his or her needs & help decide if our camp is a good fit. Animal Humane is unable to administer medication.
Time with Shelter Pets
While shelter pets are an important part of the Camp Humane experience, time with our adoptable pets will be limited and closely monitored for the safety of both our pets and our Campers. Our goal in camp is to teach responsibility and compassion toward all animals, and we will have many ways to reach this goal
What does my Child Need to Bring?
- Campers must bring a lunch from home.
- Please make sure that your child applies sunscreen before camp.
- Campers should also bring a reusable water bottle, hat & jacket with them
- Campers with dietary restrictions should also plan to bring their own snacks to camp.
To ensure there are no mix-ups, please label everything with your child’s name.
We will provide a healthy snack for each camper unless your camper has dietary restrictions.
Cancellation Policy
If you wish to cancel your child's camp registration, please notify camp staff at least 14 days prior to your scheduled session. The camp registration fee will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 14 days prior to your camp session.
Animal Humane reserves the right to cancel camp sessions due to insufficient registration or based on New Mexico Department of Health guidelines. If a camp session is canceled by Animal Humane, all registration fees will be refunded in full.
This Camp Humane session is limited to 15 participants.
